15 ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), said on Friday.
NPA explained that the 15 ships are at the ports discharging general cargoes, buck wheat, bulk fertiliser, base oil, containers, empty containers, aviation fuel, fresh fish, diesel and petrol.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 36 ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive Lagos ports between July 22, 2016 and Aug. 2, 2016.
NPA said that the expected ships would ferry into the country, buck wheat, bulk sugar, base oil, bulk salt, containers, bulk charcoal, diesel, aviation fuel and petrol.
NAN reports that 30 ships were expected on July 18, 35 ships expected on July 19, 38 ships expected on July 20, 2016 and 38 expected on July 21, 2016.
The document noted that nine ships had arrived the ports, waiting to berth with petrol, bulk gas and base oil.
